Koforidua Semper Fi's head coach, Isaac Agyemang, shared his thoughts following the team's 1-1 draw against Okwawu United in a rain-interrupted Eastern regional derby that extended into a second day.
The match, played at Akosombo Akotex Park, saw Semper Fi initially take the lead with Samuel Adonteng's first-half goal before a heavy downpour halted play on Sunday, forcing the game to resume on Monday morning.
Reflecting on the challenges posed by the interruption, Agyemang expressed his disappointment at not being able to finish the match on the original day.
“I’m disappointed we couldn’t finish the game yesterday. It’s not easy coming back with the same intensity that we displayed on Sunday, and Okwawu United equalised,” he noted.
The Koforidua side managed to hold onto their lead until the second half when Okwawu United equalised through Mustapha Issah. Despite the setback, Agyemang maintained a positive outlook, acknowledging the difficulties of the match while stating the need for his players to regain their focus and intensity.
Semper Fi will return home for their next game which is against True Democracy on November 10.
