Koforidua Semper Fi's impressive winning run in the Access Bank Division One League Zone III came to an end after a 1-1 draw against promotion-chasing Port City at the Kukurantumi Ohene Park on Sunday.
In a high-intensity contest, both teams showed attacking intent from the start, creating chances at either end. Semper Fi took the lead through Samuel Adonteng, who found the net just before halftime to give the visitors a crucial advantage heading into the break.
However, Port City responded with urgency in the second half, increasing their pressure on the Semper Fi defence. Their persistence paid off as they grabbed a well-deserved equalizer, denying the visitors all three points.
The result keeps Semper Fi in mid-table, meaning their promotion hopes remain distant, but the performance will serve as a confidence booster. Port City, on the other hand, continue their push for a Premier League spot, sitting just four points behind league leaders Hohoe United.
